Columbia Utilities Partners with Habitat for Humanity New York City to Power Homes in Brooklyn and Queens

Columbia Utilities strengthens its commitment to local communities by donating a year’s worth of electricity and gas to two Habitat for Humanity homes

BROOKLYN, NY – January 21, 2015Columbia Utilities, a family owned and operated energy supply company, announced today a new partnership with Habitat for Humanity New York City, an organization that transforms lives by building quality homes with families in need. Through the Home Energy Sponsorship, Columbia Utilities will donate the funds for a year’s worth of electricity and gas to two Habitat for Humanity homes in Brooklyn and Queens to help families transition into their new homes.

Columbia Utilities sponsored a Brooklyn Cyclones game on Saturday, July 26th, 2014, called “Strike Out Childhood Cancer with Columbia Utilities: Brooklyn Cyclones Bat for ACCO,” to raise awareness for the American Childhood Cancer Organization (ACCO), the largest national grassroots organization dedicated to improving the lives of children and adolescents with cancer and their families.

Hundreds of fans came out to Coney Island’s MCU Park to enjoy an evening of activities with their families and support ACCO’s great work. We congratulate the Brooklyn Cyclones on their win [we should change this based on the outcome of the game] and thank everyone who attended the game for their outstanding support!

“Columbia Cares” and “PALMco Cares” Will Continue Donating to Raise Awareness of ACCO’s Mission

Brooklyn, NY, February 4, 2014 – Columbia Utilities and PALMco, family owned and operated energy supply companies, have already reached their goal to raise $10,000 for the American Childhood Cancer Organization (ACCO), one of the largest national organizations dedicated to improving the lives of children and adolescents with cancer and their families, by the end of 2014.

In December 2013, Columbia Utilities and PALMco announced their partnership with ACCO, pledging to donate $1 every month for every participating new customer’s gas and/or electric account, with a goal of $10,000 by the end of 2014. Through “Columbia Cares®” and “PALMco Cares®,” customers are able to make an impact on the lives of others by simply paying their utility bills. There is no limit to how much can be donated, making it both Columbia Utilities’ and PALMco’s most significant partnership to date.
